Sam George Orders Dismissal of 100 Ghana Post Staff Over Irregular Recruitment

The Minister of Communications and Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has authorized the dismissal of nearly 100 staff members of Ghana Post Limited due to concerns over irregular recruitment.

Speaking at a press briefing, the minister explained that he could not continue working with employees whose hiring process was fraught with irregularities.

“If you are a minister and you take over a ministry that has 3,117 staff across the ministry and its agencies, and 600 of them were recruited after December 7, you cannot expect me to inherit such a mess. The rationalization is ongoing,” he stated.

He further revealed that the latest round of terminations targeted nearly 100 employees at Ghana Post who were recruited after the election.

“Today, I have authorized the termination of a few more at Ghana Post, almost 100 that were done post-election,” he said.

Sam George emphasized that his goal is to clean up and restructure the ministry to ensure efficiency. “I am on a mission to make the ministry lean and efficient so that it can effectively carry out its mandate,” he concluded
