Ghana have officially secured qualification for the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup before playing their final Group L match against Croatia.
The Black Stars are among six nations that have already booked their places in the knockout stage ahead of the last round of group matches. England, Portugal, Paraguay, Egypt and Senegal have also confirmed their progression.
Ghana’s qualification follows a strong start to their campaign. Carlos Queiroz’s side opened the tournament with a narrow 1-0 victory over Panama before earning a valuable goalless draw against England in their second group game.
Those results lifted Ghana to four points, and FIFA has confirmed that the qualification threshold has now fallen to a level that guarantees the Black Stars a place in the next round. Results from Groups F and H ensured that four points would be enough to progress under the expanded 48-team World Cup format.
While qualification is already secured, Ghana still have important business to take care of in their final group match against Croatia. The outcome of that encounter will determine whether the Black Stars finish as Group L winners or runners-up, a factor that could significantly influence their path through the knockout stage.
England have also sealed their place in the Round of 32 ahead of their final group fixture against Panama. Meanwhile, Paraguay have already been paired with Germany in the knockout stage, while Egypt are set to face Australia.
Ghana’s Round of 32 opponents will be known once the remaining group-stage matches have been completed.
