Ayawaso East MP Hon Mahama Naser Toure Passes On, Laid to Rest in Madina

The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, has passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. His death marks the end of a distinguished parliamentary career, during which he was serving his fourth term in the House of Commons.

 Hon Mahama Naser Toure was widely respected in Parliament for his diligence, humility, and depth of experience on key technical committees. Over the years, he contributed significantly to national discussions on infrastructure and energy development. He served as Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee. He was also a member of the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee, where colleagues often commended his commitment to policy work and legislative progress.

Following Islamic rites, the late legislator was laid to rest at the Madina Muslim Cemetery on January 5. The burial was preceded by Janazah prayers at the National Mosque in Kanda, led by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu. The solemn ceremony brought together fellow Members of Parliament, constituents, and prominent members of the Muslim community, who gathered to honour his memory and service to the nation.

Mahama Naser Toure leaves behind a legacy of dedicated public service and a strong reputation as a committed representative of the people of Ayawaso East. His contributions to governance and development will be remembered by colleagues and constituents alike.

Parliament is yet to be informed about his death.
