COCOBOD Dismisses Claims of New Cocoa Producer Price Announcement

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has firmly refuted recent reports suggesting that a new producer price for cocoa has been announced.

In a statement released by its Public Affairs Department, COCOBOD urged the general public and all media houses to disregard any such claims, describing them as false and premature.

According to the release, the conditions necessary for determining a new producer price have not yet been met. Specifically, there is currently no Board of Directors in place to authorize such a significant decision. Additionally, the Producer Price Review Committee which plays a critical role in reviewing and recommending producer prices has yet to be constituted.

In view of the aforementioned reasons, there is no way such an announcement can be made,” the statement emphasized.

COCOBOD is calling for calm and vigilance among stakeholders and the general public, encouraging individuals to seek verified information from official sources
