Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Communications Minister Sukparu Involved in Accident; Both in Stable Condition

The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu, have been involved in a road traffic accident.

The incident occurred on the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road while the ministers and their teams were travelling to the Upper West Region for official engagements. They were scheduled to attend the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.

In a statement, the Office of the Minister for Education confirmed that both ministers are safe.

“The Office of the Honourable Minister for Education wishes to inform the public that the Minister and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology are in stable condition following a road traffic accident involving their convoy on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road today,” the statement said.

It added that “all members of the convoy are currently in stable condition and receiving the necessary medical attention.”

The Office also thanked emergency responders and members of the public for their swift support.

The statement was signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Minister for Education, who indicated that further updates would be communicated if necessary.
