ECG Begins Four-day Power Outage Exercise in Parts of Accra East

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has begun a four-day planned maintenance exercise in parts of the Accra East Region, resulting in temporary power interruptions in several communities.

The exercise, which started today, Monday, August 10, will continue through Thursday, August 13, with outages scheduled between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm each day.

According to ECG, the maintenance forms part of efforts to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the affected areas.

On Monday, August 10, the affected areas include Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, parts of Ogbodjo, Twumasiwaa Hospital, Ability and surrounding communities.

On Tuesday, August 11, the outage will affect Ashiyie, parts of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate, Manet Junction and nearby areas.

The Wednesday, August 12 schedule covers parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot-to-teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, parts of Madina, Libya Quarters and surrounding communities.

The final phase on Thursday, August 13, will affect Achimota School and surrounding areas.

ECG has advised customers in the affected communities to take note of the schedule and make the necessary preparations ahead of the temporary interruptions.

The power distributor apologised for the inconvenience, saying the exercise is necessary to strengthen electricity service delivery.
