NSA Justifies Rejecting Hearts of Oak’s Bid for Accra Sports Stadium

Hearts of Oak’s request to host their Ghana Premier League match against Nations FC at the Accra Sports Stadium has been denied by the National Sports Authority (NSA). The NSA explained that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) made the request without a formal agreement, and it was too late to complete the necessary preparations. As a result, the match will now take place at the Tuba Astroturf on Thursday. Hearts of Oak has been playing at the University of Ghana Stadium since September 2024 due to issues with the Accra Sports Stadium’s condition, which is now closed for renovations ahead of the CAF African Schools Football Championship in April. With few options left, they’ll now play at the much smaller Tuba Astroturf.
