The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its National Delegates Conference will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, where delegates are expected to elect new National Officers and consider proposed amendments to the party’s constitution.
The date was approved by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and later endorsed by the National Council during separate meetings held on June 25, 2026.
According to the party, the conference will be conducted in line with Article 10(1) of the NPP Constitution, with the election of National Officers forming a key part of the agenda.
Ahead of the conference, the General Secretary has formally invited party members and stakeholders to submit proposals for amendments to the party’s constitution.
The invitation, issued under Article 19(2) of the NPP Constitution, urges members to contribute ideas aimed at strengthening the party’s governance and internal democratic structures.
“All proposed amendments should be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the Party’s National Headquarters or transmitted electronically via nppconstitutionalamendment@gmail.com,” the statement said.
The party has set Friday, July 17, 2026, as the deadline for the submission of all constitutional amendment proposals.
The NPP encouraged members and stakeholders to participate actively in the constitutional review process, stating that the exercise is intended to “further strengthen the Party’s structures, enhance its internal democratic processes, and promote effective governance.”
The party stated that it remains dedicated to “constitutionalism, internal democracy, and the rule of law,” as preparations continue for the September National Delegates Conference.
