Sachet Water Prices to Remain Unchanged as Government Intervenes to Protect Consumers.

The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has announced that sachet water prices will remain unchanged for now, following successful engagement with key industry players.

In a press release issued on Monday, April 6, 2026, the Ministry commended both the Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association (GPMA) and the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) for suspending a planned price increase scheduled to take effect the same day.

The Ministry described the decision as a significant step toward safeguarding consumers and maintaining market stability.

“This decision reflects our commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring market stability,” the statement said.

It further assured the public that there would be no immediate increase in the price of sachet water, urging calm among consumers.

“The Ministry hereby assures the public that the price of sachet water will not increase today. Consumers can continue to purchase sachet water at the current price,” the release emphasised.

To address underlying concerns within the sector, the Ministry revealed plans to hold an emergency meeting with the leadership of GPMA and NASPAWAP on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The meeting will focus on resolving challenges confronting producers and preventing future price instability.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with trade associations to find lasting solutions.

“The Ministry remains steadfast in working with all Trade Associations to resolve issues swiftly and maintain stability in the market.”
