Dr. Bawumia To Kick Off Nationwide Campaign Tour.

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will officially launch his nationwide campaign to become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) starting Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

According to a press release signed by Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Communications Director for the Bawumia Campaign, the former Vice President’s tour will cover all 276 constituencies across Ghana, with a strong focus on grassroots engagement.

The statement described the initiative as “a grassroots-focused tour designed for Dr. Bawumia to have a direct and personal engagement with the Polling Station Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, Constituency Executives (current and former), former Members of Parliament, former MMDCEs, Patrons, and Council of Elders.”

The release emphasized that the tour reflects Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to listening, building consensus, and strengthening the NPP’s foundation from the ground up. It added that Dr. Bawumia “looks forward to sharing his vision and collectively working towards a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2028 general elections.”

In a strong message to supporters, the Bawumia Campaign also called for decency and issue-based discussions as internal debates within the party intensify ahead of the presidential primaries.

While acknowledging what it described as “the vibrant and enthusiastic discussions characterizing the upcoming NPP presidential primaries,” the campaign expressed concern over the growing trend of personal insults and unsubstantiated attacks in political communication.

“Such conduct is not in the spirit of the NPP and runs counter to the values of unity, respect, and decency that we hold dear,” the statement cautioned.

In response, the campaign reiterated its commitment to an issue-based, respectful, and fact-driven process. It urged all supporters, communicators, and volunteers of the Bawumia Campaign to refrain from engaging in insults or personal attacks, whether direct or indirect, against other aspirants, their families, or their supporters. Instead, they are encouraged to focus on promoting Dr. Bawumia’s vision, proven track record, and policy ideas.

The campaign further emphasized that all communication should be grounded in verifiable facts and thoughtful analysis rather than emotion or hearsay. According to the statement, “Our arguments and engagements must be grounded in verifiable facts, a comparative analysis of ideas, and the substantive track records of all involved. We encourage healthy debate on policies, competence, and electability, not on sentiment or character assassination.”

Additionally, the statement called on party members to uphold the dignity of the NPP, noting that internal divisions or inflammatory rhetoric could undermine the unity and progress of the party. “As we seek to lead the NPP into the 2028 elections, we must remember that our goal is party unity and national progress. Communications that sow division and create lasting animosity only serve to weaken our collective front.”

“We believe in the superiority of Dr. Bawumia’s message and his vision for our party and nation,” the statement read. “We are confident that when the debate is focused on issues, his qualifications, experience, and transformative ideas will resonate decisively with the delegates.”

The release concluded with a call for unity and integrity throughout the campaign: “Let us campaign as one united family, poised for victory.”
