Ghana Beat Mali to Move Closer to 2026 World Cup Spot.

Ghana’s Black Stars regained victory on Monday, September 8, 2025, with a narrow 1–0 win against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The result was a timely response to last week’s setback against Chad, which had left Otto Addo and his men under pressure. Backed by a charged home crowd, the Black Stars held their nerves and showed resilience to claim all three points.

The win keeps Ghana at the top of Group I with 19 points from eight matches. Madagascar sits second with 16 points, Comoros is third with 15, while Mali remains in fourth place with 12 points.

With two games left to play in October against the Central African Republic (CAR) and Comoros, the Black Stars need just one more victory to seal qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
