Presidency Calls for Public Tributes to Honour Victims of August 6 Helicopter Crash.

The Presidency is inviting Ghanaians to join in paying a final tribute to the eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in the military helicopter crash of August 6, 2025.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 11, the Funeral Planning Committee appealed to individuals, institutions, and organisations to submit messages of condolence and heartfelt tributes for inclusion in the official State Funeral brochure.

The statement  signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, described the call as part of a national effort to “collectively honour the victims’ service and sacrifice to the nation.”

Ghanaians wishing to contribute can email their tributes to tributes@presidency.gov.gh no later than Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at noon GMT.

A State Funeral will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Black Star Square in Accra, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The ceremony is expected to draw citizens from all walks of life, united in paying their last respects to the fallen.
