Prez  Mahama Declares Three Days of National Mourning After Helicopter Crash.

President John Dramani Mahama has suspended all official activities for the rest of the week following the tragic helicopter crash that killed eight people on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In a statement issued by the President’s spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, it was announced that three days of national mourning will begin today, Thursday, August 7.

“All flags must fly at half-mast until further notice,” the statement added.

The suspension of presidential duties and the declaration of national mourning reflect the gravity of the loss, which includes high-ranking government and military officials.

President Mahama has described the incident as a national tragedy and has urged Ghanaians to keep the families of the victims in their prayers.
