Stephen Ntim Temporarily Steps Aside from NPP Duties Over Health Concerns

The family of Mr. Stephen Ayesu Ntim, the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced that he will be taking a temporary break from all official duties due to health-related issues.

In a statement released on Monday, June 16, 2025, the family appealed to the party leadership and the general public to support Mr. Ntim during this period, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing his health and well-being. According to them, Mr. Ntim has been unwell in recent times and requires focused medical attention and rest.

The family respectfully requested that Mr. Ntim be excused from a scheduled party meeting he was expected to chair, as well as from all active engagements moving forward. “Although not official, it is well known that Mr. Ntim is not well at the moment,” the family noted, adding that his doctors have advised time off from all professional duties to aid in his recovery.

Mr. Stephen Ntim is widely admired for his decades-long loyalty and service to the NPP, having served previously as the 1st National Deputy Chairman before assuming the position of National Chairman. His calm demeanor, strategic leadership, and unshakable belief in the party’s ideals have earned him the respect of colleagues and political observers alike.

“This break is necessary to ensure that he receives the proper care and monitoring needed to restore his health,” the statement read. The family added that this request is being made in good faith and recognition of the enormous demands of his role as National Chairman.

While no specific timeline has been given for his return, the NPP is expected to make internal arrangements to ensure the smooth continuation of party operations during his absence.
