Two Dead, Several Injured in Tragic Accident at Aseseeso

A devastating accident on the Aseseeso stretch has claimed the lives of two individuals and left over 15 others injured on Friday March 28th. The victims include students from Ben Kunadu SDA Basic School, who were on an excursion to Akosombo when the incident occurred.

The accident happened when the driver of a bus, registered as GV 83-22, reportedly lost control while descending a hill. The vehicle somersaulted before coming to a stop on its side. There were 62 children on board at the time of the crash.

Tragically, a 65-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. More than 15 others sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention at Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital, Koforidua Government Hospital, and Somanya District Hospital. Some of the injured have also been transferred to Atua Government Hospital for further treatment.

Authorities report that between 31 and 35 students remain hospitalized, though their conditions are considered stable.

Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Meanwhile, families and school officials anxiously await further updates on the condition of the injured students
