Diddy Clashes with Prosecutors Over Jail Cell Search Complaints

Federal prosecutors have pushed back against Diddy’s claims that a search of his jail cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) violated his constitutional rights. In a response filed on Monday, they argued that his allegations distort the facts.

The music mogul, who has been held at the Brooklyn facility for months while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, previously objected to the search, claiming that authorities improperly accessed privileged legal materials related to his case.

However, prosecutors dismissed his argument, stating that the government does not intend to use any of his personal notes or any evidence derived from them in its case. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, they also emphasized that the prosecution had no prior knowledge that an investigator would take part in the search or photograph Diddy’s materials.

Diddy has also accused the government of unlawfully surveilling him. However, prosecutors rejected this claim, stating that he cannot prove the prosecution team— which does not include the investigator involved in the search—intentionally interfered with his attorney-client relationship.

In their filing, prosecutors made it clear that they are ready to defend their position in court. They requested the opportunity to formally respond if the judge decides to consider Diddy’s allegations while reviewing his pending motion or request for a hearing.

Diddy is scheduled to stand trial in May and has pleaded not guilty, consistently maintaining his innocence. Meanwhile, new allegations against him continue to emerge. Recently, former Danity Kane member D. Woods claimed in an interview with ABC News that she experienced a “verbally abusive work environment” while working under Diddy. His legal team has strongly denied these accusations as well.
