DStv Ghana Subscribers to Enjoy Major Package Upgrades from October 1.

Starting October 1, 2025, DStv subscribers in Ghana will automatically receive upgrades to their packages at no additional cost. This comes after an agreement between the Government of Ghana and MultiChoice Africa following weeks of discussions on subscription pricing and value.

Announcing the decision at a press briefing in Accra on Monday, September 29, 2025, the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, said MultiChoice had committed to an “unprecedented increased value offer” exclusively for Ghana. He explained that the move was the outcome of a committee review that considered cost factors, the economic environment, and consumer trends before arriving at a solution designed to deliver better value.

The new structure means subscribers will receive between 33% and 50% more value, depending on the bouquet they are on. For instance, those on the ₵59 Padi bouquet will now be upgraded to the Access bouquet worth ₵99, while Access subscribers paying ₵99 will move up to the Family bouquet worth ₵190. Family package users will be upgraded to Compact, gaining access to live football for the first time. Compact subscribers will move to Compact Plus, and Compact Plus subscribers will be upgraded to the Premium bouquet.

Premium subscribers, who already enjoy the full content range, will continue on their package but will also qualify for a competition that offers fully paid trips to watch selected English Premier League matches, subject to terms and conditions.

The Minister emphasized that the arrangement does not restrict subscribers from choosing their preferred package. Instead, it allows all customers to enjoy more services for the same price, a development that he said reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring fair value for consumers.
