FIFA Unveils Historic Championship Rings for 2026 World Cup Winners

FIFA has announced that the winners of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ will receive championship rings for the first time in the tournament’s history, adding a new symbol of glory to football’s biggest prize.

The announcement was made in a statement ahead of the World Cup final, which will take place on Sunday, July 19, at New York New Jersey Stadium.

Traditionally, World Cup champions are presented with the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy and gold medals. However, FIFA says the 2026 winners will also be honoured with bespoke championship rings, inspired by one of the most celebrated traditions in American sports.

According to FIFA, the rings represent a historic milestone for the competition.

“In a momentous first for a FIFA competition, the tournament winners will also receive bespoke championship rings, bringing one of the most recognisable American sporting traditions to the global game.”

FIFA revealed that only 2,026 individually numbered rings will be produced as a tribute to the tournament. Of these, 30 rings will be reserved for the victorious team, while the remaining 1,996 will be made available to fans worldwide as officially licensed collectables.

The governing body explained that each ring has been carefully designed to celebrate the achievement of becoming world champions. One side will feature the FIFA World Cup Trophy, while the other will be customised with details of the winning nation. Every ring will also be individually numbered, custom-fitted and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
