NPP Will Not Publish Full 2024 Election Report – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Constitutional and Legal Committee, clarified that the party does not plan to release its full internal report on the 2024 general elections to the public.

Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV on Monday, the Ofoase Ayirebi MP explained that the report contains highly sensitive information, including internal campaign strategies and what he referred to as “trade secrets.” According to him, it is standard practice for political parties both in Ghana and globally not to make such documents publicly available.

“No, we will not be publishing that report to the general public. Political parties don’t do that because it also contains some trade secrets, sensitive information. So no political party does that,” he stated firmly.

Instead, Oppong Nkrumah revealed that the party has issued a summary version of the report, highlighting the key findings and recommendations. He said the leadership has already started implementing some of the reforms suggested in the summary.

“The summary that we believe captures it, we have put it out, and we’ve started the process of responding to it,” he said.

The former Minister for Information also pushed back against critics who argue that the NPP has failed to engage in proper reflection following its loss in the 2024 elections. He insisted that the party has conducted thorough introspection and is actively working on correcting its shortcomings.

“It is not true that we have not done serious introspection on the report,” he added.

The NPP’s internal report was commissioned to assess the factors that led to the party’s defeat in the 2024 polls and provide a roadmap for recovery ahead of future elections. While the decision to keep the full report private has drawn criticism from some observers and party members, Oppong Nkrumah insists the move is necessary to protect the party’s strategic interests.
