President John Dramani Mahama has promised to tackle Ghana’s economic crisis and restore stability within his four-year term.
Delivering his first State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Thursday, February 27, President John Dramani Mahama acknowledged the country’s severe economic challenges but vowed to restore stability and drive growth.
“I, John Dramani Mahama, will fix the economic crisis facing our nation and set it back on the path to growth and prosperity,” he declared.
He went on to say, “It is not my style to lament or shift blame. I am not here to complain, even though there is much to be concerned about.”
President Mahama admitted, “The state of the nation is not good. Our economy is in crisis, and Ghanaians are enduring unprecedented hardships.” However, he stressed his determination to focus on solutions rather than dwell on past challenges.
The State of the Nation Address is an annual speech that reviews the country’s current state, highlights key achievements, and outlines the government’s plans and policies for the upcoming year.
