Accra Academy Breaks Silence on Viral Video of Student Assaulting Peers with Machete

The school has reported that the student responsible for the incident has been handed over to the police for further investigation.

The viral video, which surfaced a few days ago, shows a student wielding a machete and striking two of his classmates with it.

According to the school’s statement, the individuals involved in the act have been identified as Haleem Jibril, Ahmed Dauda, and Richard Ninsin, all of whom are final-year students, along with Shadad Aliu, a first-year student.

The victims, all first-year students, have been identified as Samuel Ussher, Kingsford Quayson, Stephen Oteng, and Dominic Awuku Adjei.

The school reported that its initial investigation showed the machete used by the students was brought from home, not taken from the school.

“The matter is still under investigation by the school’s disciplinary committee, and all relevant parties will be informed of the outcome,” the school stated.

The school also stated that all the students involved have been identified as day students and have been instructed to stay away from school while the investigation continues.

This was a press statement on the school’s original X account
