Hon. Sam George Announces Free 12-Month Gemini Access for Ghanaian Students

Ghanaian students are set to benefit from a major technological opportunity following an announcement by Hon. Sam George on his official X account. According to him, students across the country can now sign up for the Gemini App for free for 12 months, including 2TB of cloud storage, from now until December 9, 2025.

In his post, Hon. Sam George described the initiative as part of ongoing efforts to empower young people with the tools needed to thrive in a digital world. “As part of our efforts to put cutting-edge technology in the hands of our next generation of leaders and problem solvers, I am pleased to announce that you can sign up to use @GeminiApp for free for 12 months with 2TB storage as a Ghanaian student,” he wrote.

He further highlighted that beneficiaries will also receive free AI Certification training, a move he believes will strengthen Ghana’s digital talent pipeline and reduce financial burdens on students and their families. “This is yet another step to empower our citizens and save money for Ghanaian students and their parents,” he noted.

Hon. Sam George also expressed appreciation to Google for its continued collaboration with Ghana’s Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation. “I am grateful to the team at @Google for their continued partnership with the @mocghana,” he said, adding that the cooperation will extend “beyond the AI Research Lab and One Million Coders Programme.”

He concluded by encouraging students and parents to take advantage of the opportunity and help spread the information widely.

The announcement marks another milestone in Ghana’s ongoing push to expand digital access, support youth innovation, and strengthen the country’s presence in global technology ecosystems.
